Product Review Policy - Cats and Dice | Board and Tabletop Games

This product review policy aims to help creators find a wider reach for their audience. It also aims to help readers understand why Cats and Dice features certain products.

General Product Review Policy

Cats and Dice focuses on information and products that will help readers have great tabletop gaming experiences. Items recommended through Cats and Dice are chosen based on personal use. They may have also been proven by the tabletop gaming community to be of value to a gamer and their experiences.

I do not write individual product reviews. This may seem unusual for a gaming blog, but it’s a policy I adapted early on for several reasons. First, I do not personally read review blogs, so it feels disingenuous to write one. Second, I prefer to focus on informational articles for gamers. Therefore, I do not want to spend my time writing about products that would not be helpful.

With that said, Cats and Dice does work with brands to feature their products on curated lists and other articles should they be a good fit for the community.

For Content Creators

If you are interested in having your product featured on Cats and Dice, please email hello@catsanddice.com with the following information:

What product(s) you would like featured
Why they might be a good fit for Cats and Dice
Which existing article they would be a good fit for (if any)

What affiliate programs your store is a part of (if any)
Your store’s regional location

If your product seems like it could be a good fit for the site, I may ask for a review copy for photography purposes and to ensure its quality. Asking for a review copy does not guarantee placement on Cats and Dice.

I will notify you within 30 days of receipt regarding a decision to feature the product. A link back from your website to Cats and Dice and/or the list your product is featured on is always appreciated but not required.

For Readers

I aim to only feature products that will be enjoyable and helpful to you and your gaming experience. In this spirit, I will never recommend a product simply because I received a copy of it. I will always disclose when I may or have received some sort of value from a product recommended. You may also wish to read more about Cats and Dice’s affiliate policy.

If you would like to recommend a product based on your personal use of it, please feel free to do so by emailing hello@catsanddice.com. If you are recommending a product you are professionally connected with, use the guidelines under the “For Content Creators” section.

Please also email hello@catsanddice.com if you feel a product should not be recommended on the site. State the name and the seller of the product, where the product is featured on the site, and why you feel it should not be featured. It will be taken under advisement.
